preschool: fall 2010

This is Charlotte at 6 mo. This is just where little Julia is now with the same look!
Julia's all smiles... She's been humming when she eats too.

Tomorrow, we officially begin our search for a preschool for the fall. We'll be visiting the oldest preschool in Eureka, a cooperative started in 1971.  Luckily, a friend reminded me that now is the time to enroll kids for the fall -already three of fifteen openings are filled at this preschool. Hmmm... I remember when Charlotte was just a little baby, someone told me that I needed to get her on the waiting list immediately if I want her to attend this one particularly elite Montessori preschool in Eureka. It's a cute place but I'm not into sending CB 5x a week for $375/mo.  It's pricey and she'll have her whole life to go to school everyday of the week.

Anyway, I'm very excited about visiting the co-op preschool and am thrilled about volunteering, but I'm a little apprehensive about having to put on a wine gala fundraiser, something they do every year to help offset the low tuition rates. I'm really hoping it doesn't involve ticket sales. Not my thing.  I'll find out more about that tomorrow, and if that's the only thing I'm hesitant about, at least it's a pretty minor thing... I just want to be sure the teachers are friendly and caring, well-organized, creative, and fun. I guess it's the rest of the parents too -they help make it what it is. If everyone's really excited about what they're doing for the preschool, it could be a really fun experience for us all.

When I asked Charlotte about what she wants to do in preschool, she said, "sing and dance and play".
How simple and perfect.
