may bee

I'm sitting at the kitchen table in a very quiet house. What an unfamiliar feeling, being all alone in our house. At first I was overwhelmed -so much freedom, what am I going to do first?! Now, I'm already feeling a little lonely. This is weird. Anyway, I thought I'd get some pictures up on the blog for you all, so here they are:

I was at the nursery buying some soil amender and right next to the cash register were bags of ladybugs for sale. Alright, I know it's a total impulse purchase, but they are great for the plants and we certainly have plenty of aphids to keep them well fed.  We saw them around the garden for about a week, and I saw plenty of mating ladybugs so there ought to be some babies out there too.
Grandma Liz got me a pretty blue Pyrex dish and I made the yummiest coffeecake in it -definitely photo-worthy.
Julia! Belly button!
Charlotte! Teeth!
This is funny. Julia's potty training and has been hanging out naked in the backyard while I do yard work. It's an opportunity to figure out what's going on down there, you know. Well, she peed on the sidewalk in the backyard and yelled, "pee!" Yes, Julia, you went pee. Then, she grabs Bunny from her room and puts Bunny right in the puddle. "Bunny Pee!" So that's how bunny ended up getting a "bath".

Charlotte loves to dress up. Here she is in a hot pink leotard, my green scarf, purple garden gloves, and ballet slippers -she's a mommy carrying her baby.
This is the view out of my kitchen window. My apple tree is abloom with pretty little white flowers. The bees are loving it too.
I caught Charlotte getting ready for ballet today. She looked so cute, I had to take a picture. The leg warmers were Laura's that her grandma made for her.
All ready for ballet, bun and all!
She likes fancy barrettes.
Julia insisted on putting her leotard and tight on. She was crushed she didn't get to go with this time.
That's it for now! I hope you're all doing swell. Laura took pictures of our weekend in the bay area with all the cousins together -I'll be sure to share those with you as soon as I get them!
