Goodbye best Christmas tree ever!

It's really sad to see it go.

Humboldt Wildlife Refuge in Loleta:

Her binoculars are upside down and backwards -she likes it that way.

Cattails line the trails.

We saw tons of waterfowl and birds of prey... Pretty sure most of them were Harriers. 

Brrrrrr. It was windy! The interpreter at the wildlife center told us that it was chicken pot pie day at Loleta Bakery. We headed that way.

As soon as we sat down, the waitress asked CB and J (not me) if they'd like some hot chocolate... with whipped cream!  Hmmm. They were served in cafe au lait bowls and had tons of cream on them. They didn't want their lunch after that but did have a chocolate chip cookie (anotehr treat that the waitress offered up to the girls, not me). Well, CB felt like she over did it when we left the cafe and we had to go get some Tums at the corner market.  The chicken pot pie was great!
