A really happy Charlotte:
Charlotte took this picture of Julia with Molly and Mimi.
Super silly Julia picture:
Julia on the day before her birthday. Her last day of being ONE! She's really growing up fast -she's all done with diapers AND sleeping in her own bed (next to Charlotte's) in their own room.
By the way, she's in her underpants because the girls love to run around in nothing but their underpants all the time. I pick up lots of clothes all day long -we're working on "if you take it off, put it where it belongs".
Kim and Dave came up to visit on the weekend of Julia's birthday! Here we are having a.m. treats at Brio Bakery by the plaza.
The girls LOVE Kim and Dave. Charlotte calls Kim "Kimmy" Julia calls her "Nim"
Julia wanted blueberry cake, so that's what we made -with some lemon too.
The lemon frosting, crumb layer:
Charlotte had an idea that it would have a big J on it...
Decorated with chocolate candies.
Grandma Shoe (Great Grandma) sent her a yellow dress that just so happened to match her cake perfectly.
This cake tasted so good. If you want the recipe, let me know.
Charlotte found a sunflower seed in a bucket of rice at preschool. She came home and stuck in the garden. What a surprise.
Matching p.j.s . They look conjoined?
Steve took this picture of the girls hanging out on the boat while he was working on it. They got to sail on it for the first time when we went camping around Steve's bday in mid-August.
This is how our backyard ends up looking most afternoons during the summer. It becomes our living room.
We're saving our seeds from our sweet peas. It's serious work as you can see:
A favorite toy, always:
NEW TENT!!!
All ready to go camping!
Green beans (and purple ones too) from our garden.
It was a lovely August.
