Willow Creek, 45 miles from Eureka

It's dark, cold, and gray.  We've had one or two days a week of sun accompanied by north winds.  I'm excited for the summer weather to arrive and it usually hits us by August, with a gorgeous September to follow.  Meanwhile, we've been heading elsewhere to find summer.  We went to Willow Creek today to warm our bones and how nice it was to sit comfortably in the shade.  The girls waded and I got to read my book. There were two bald eagles perched in the snag above our swimming hole.  Julia wants to go back for her birthday which is in a few weeks.
