After our camping trip on the Smith River, we drove down to Klamath and visited the Trees of Mystery.
You can't miss it because there's a huge Paul Bunyan and Babe standing out front.
Next time we're here, we'll enter (it's like $45 for a family) and take the hike and gondola ride.
Having not been here before, we were really surprised to see that Paul moves. He waves, opens his mouth to talk (someone talks to tourists through a speaker and he even commented on Julia's dress), he turns his head, and even winks. See the girls sitting on those big lumberjack boots?!
There were tons of tourists in the gift shop and museum, and there was a crowd of them around the fudge stand. Apparently, tourists crave fudge while touring the U.S. It's something they just don't get abroad. It just makes me think of Christmas.
Here are the girls and BIG FOOT. I wonder if their habit of striking a pose for a photo comes from taking dance?
I leaned out and snapped a picture of the golden bear by the bridge over the Klamath River.
See all the camping gear?
I was hesitating here, trying to think of something to say and CB, leaning over my shoulder says, "Mom, write the 'mad scientist'!"
Here are the girls hugging a tree at Prairie Creek Redwoods Park
And then we saw some ELK on the side of the road eating blackberries. We kept our distance.
