As requested, there were red and pink balloons tied to our gate outside... CB opened her presents immediately and ran about the house with her new toy recycling truck, carrying her little squirrel family all over in it. We had pancakes and then headed to the bookstore and then the park.
Charlotte requested lamb and chicken for dinner but her second choice was pizza with olives...
We decorated her chocolate cupcakes together (I finally got some natural food dye -blue is red cabbage, red is beet, and yellow is turmeric). Aunt Laura was on speaker phone when we sang Happy Birthday.
At the end of the day, when Steve was tucking her into bed, Charlotte said, "you're my best friend, Dad".
