December 2009

We usually get our tree from the Humboldt State Forestry Club. They do a thinning of a stand of trees on someone's property... Anyway, they have the best trees. When I called to see when they'd set up their lot, I was told they did it the weekend we were out of town. What were we going to do? There are two tree farms in the area, so I decided we'd check out the one in Loleta. The farm is on Table Bluff road, a road that meanders out from the highway towards the coast (on a bluff, of course)... How scenic! Rolling hills, horses, big barns, and the great ocean stretched out along the horizon. When we got there, the sun was setting over the ocean and it was COLD and DAMP. Christmasy. We picked out our tree in the dark; therefore, when we got home, we were surprised at it's size, taking up half of the living room floor. What a pretty Idaho Grand Fir!

I hosted the annual Thank Goodness It's Monday playgroup moms' Christmas party. I love these women, they are my dear friends.

Steve took CB and Julia to our friends' house and I didn't see them for three hours. That's a long time for a mom and a little baby... We were happy to be reunited.

Charlotte loves scissors.
